Brone simply nodded. "I do not know how you can be so calm, and not lose your head in such company. And I do not hold your lineage against Madam," He shook his head slightly. He doubted he should voice his feelings against the war, nor his knowledge of Serena's 'love' with a witch. Brone looked toward the door, Tobais must still be here, and he wanted to get him, so badly for what he had done. Brone took a step toward Victoria and motioned for the guards to back up a bit, a signal for them not to listen with their senstive ears.
"More..." Brone said softly, looking at her. "You know Tobias is here. Has your husband told you what he has done? What they both have done?" He asked her, watching intently for her answer. The silence hung in the air for a moment. Was she in on it? Did she even know her daughter had been raped and butchered? Would Serena take comfort with her mother? He was not sure why he was asking her, but she might be his only ally in this family besides his bride to be.

Victoria did the only unladylike thing she will possibly do the entire evening: she shrugged. "I suppose I take comfort in the fact that there is nothing he can do to me if he wants to keep his wealth. It's a marriage of convenience, for his sake more than mine. And I actually love my children, especially Serena." It was all true. Without her, Nicolaus' family would have spent the last of their own so-called fortune from when their ancestors ruined their reputation. She didn't mind, love had never been her strongest ideal, especially after she believed she loved him.
She inclined her head slightly when the prince moved closer to her, curious as to what he would want to say that his guards could not hear. When he mentioned Tobias, she gave him a slightly quizzical look. "Tobias? You mean Private Ryan? Yes, I know he was here, but I thought he was nothing more than a new apprentice to my husband, or that he realized he would never get any from me again and went the other direction..." Her eyes narrowed and she also took a small step closer, having a feeling this had to do with Serena. "What have Nicolaus and that man done?" she asked hesitantly, knowing she probably wouldn't like the answer.

Brone could not break her gaze, neither even breathed and his eyes flickered toward the door that De Lorme had rushed off through. "I am not completely sure as to what exactly your husband did, but obviously you have been in the dark for many many years. It a is a bit of a story, and if they are listening through walls, it would not be safe to tell you here." Brone said, thinking aloud, he was almost sure emotions flickered on his face. How unlike a prince! No doubt it was due to her resemblance of his love.
Brone looked at her again, masking his face again, knowing she probably had noticed it. "Unless you'd like to take the chance here, would you accompany me outside where we could at least put some distance in their probably eavesdropping?" He would have offered to take her all the way to the palace, but maybe she would rather stay put. Brone would fight if they barged inside.

Victoria was not in the slightest happy about the seriousness of this conversation, especially when it involved Nicolaus. The man was cruel, pompous and arrogant, but she still had a place for him in her dead heart. The only other reason she still remained in that household. But as she watched the prince, emotions passing over his face, she came to realize that she needed to stay home more often...and that her daughter had been lucky enough to find someone that returned her love.
Nodding to his suggestion, she turned and slipped her arm around his own, more out of haste to know what was going on. "I believe it would be best if we took this outside, your grace. I wouldn't put it past my husband to listen in on my conversations." She snapped her fingers and a servant girl quickly came into the room with her lady's velvet cloak, placing it around her shoulders and snapping the silver broach in the front before leaving them be. "Please, let me walk you outside," she offered so that they may go.

He took her arm--it was what was customary after all. A lady always took a man's arm, and while the situation was far from normal, perhaps that is why they needed a bit of normal, mundane ediquete. He followed her outside, signaling the guards to wait just outside the doors of the house as he continued to guide Victoria along the path, toward the forest, purely because the streets were getting a bit busier, and he knew there was not too much dirt at the edge, it would be safe there. This is where he had spoken to Serena so long ago.
"I will begin with what I know, and then I shall continue with what I suspect. Please my lady, do not comment until I am done purely so you may be aware of all the facts first." Brone said letting go of her arm, looking slightly preoccupied, picking out his next words carefully.
"A while back, I do not know how long ago, but I would guess a few years, Serena was romantically involved with a witch named Tobais. She witnessed his death, suspecting that his own kind had killed him for the offence. A day or two after meeting me, she found out that your husband was responsible for his death." Brone paused here, he could not tell her exactly the circumstances of how he and Serena had gotten together, so he slightly twisted the details. "I will admit that I originally took her on as a lover because I was trying to dismiss another woman from my mind, a woman I could not have. But over time, please believe me, I came to see how foolish I had been, my love was right in front of me." Brone paused again, a longer pause this time, his mouth turning to a small frown as he looked up at the moon.
"We walked the forest, after a hunt, and there was music playing. Music she knew as a song Tobais had composed. She got away from me... I found them quickly. He seemed to control his shadows, and then i realized he also could control other people, for between seconds Serena had switched from trying to get away to kissing him. It ended quickly and I took Serena back. At the time, I had never seen anyone so sick. The magic was so strong in her system, that's when we found out she was carrying." Brone looked back to try and asses the woman's carefully composed face.
"Things improved for a time, but I was afraid to leave her alone, afraid that this witch, who had been turned into one of us in order to live, was still after her. He lured me out, telling me he had taken Serena and hidden her in a crypt. After making sure I had a few broken bones, he left me. I looked, but I knew I couldn't take his word that she was there. I started moving, and then I heard her scream...." Brone closed his eyes, the scene playing vividly in his brain, his fist clentched at his side, causing him physical pain. And he could not look at her mother as he finished.
"He was gone when I found her. Naked, raped and cut--her flesh ripped open, tied to a rock..." Brone voice caught and he knew she noticed, but here he was not a prince, he was the man who wanted to marry her daughter. A man whose love had been hurt. "The physical scars are not so bad now."
Brone opened his eyes and looked away again. "Here's what I think. Your husband finds Tobais, who all but admitted that the 'love' Serena felt was manufactured by his powers, and they plan to stage the witches real death. Only for the General to bite him back into life. Why, I am not sure."

For the entire explanation, Victoria remained silent as he asked, folding her arms to ignore the chill of the winter air. Thoughts collided with themselves within her mind as she listened, though she was able to remain steadily calm to try to be unbiased. What made her falter, just as it did the young prince, was the mere thought of seeing her daughter abused so harshly. It made tears shimmer in her eyes as she tried to pull her self together to finish listening to it all, but she had heard enough by that point. She needed to see her daughter.
"Sire... Brone..." she corrected herself, trying to carefully piece together what she wanted to say around feeling the pain for what her daughter had gone through. Perhaps she did spend far too much time in Spain instead of home where she needed to be. "I have a slight theory to add to this juncture, but only because I know my husband and his background. I have a feeling, that my husband is using Serena to get to you, to your throne. Though..." she stopped herself to take a few breaths, anger slowly replacing the sadness she felt, "I think that he hadn't counted on Serena getting pregnant, at least not by you, judging by his reaction. But I know why Tobias's magic affects her so much. Good magic versus bad. It's one thing for your body to be pumped full of unwanted magic, but the little that passed through me was trying to repel what he had and losing drastically..."
She took a moment to turn and move to use a tree for support. How could her husband do this to their own daughter? Conspire in any way like this? And that Tobias traitor... He was good as dead. No one messed with her children. There was nothing like a woman scorned. "I wish to see my daughter tomorrow. I feel if I tried to see her tonight, I would upset her more than necessary."

"That had crossed my mind, that it was for the throne. But how could they have accounted for me coming along and into Serena's life...." He wondered. How could they know she would end up with him? Maybe the plan had been to get tobais to make her, or make him. But he knew that his love was real, that her love was real. Brone hesitantly laid a hand on her shoulder softly. "There is not a shred of evil in your daughter, that answer makes sense, but does not make the pain any less....." He sighed softly.
He felt guilty, her pain was his fault. Over his throne. Victoria had to believe that he cared about her though, and if he were being controlled he never would have told her what happened. Brone wanted to rip Tobias' throat out. Pull him into a million unrecognizable shreds, and even then he would not have suffered enough. Half of him wanted to run back and do just that, his feet shifted under him.
"Whatever you deem best," Brone said composing his voice again and removing his hand from her shoulder. "I'll make sure the guards are expecting you. I wish you---luck, when you return home." He said with a small nod. He would walk her back of course, but not until she was ready.

Victoria reached up and lightly touched Brone's comforting hand on her shoulder, closing her eyes for a moment. She knew, she could tell just how much the prince did in fact love her daughter. There was no magic involved with such a feeling, or rather, only of the good variety. It could only be replicated with false fulfillness. The determination to protect Serena was filled with true love. So she trusted him
When his hand left, she almost instantly regained her composure and her calm serenity returned. She nodded to him, smiling a bit when he wished her luck. "Aye, don't worry about me, Sire. The one that needs luck are those two men in my home. I can guarantee neither one will be sleeping well tonight." There was a shimmer in her dark eyes when she said that, already planning a few spells she could cast in order to make their night and day miserable. The thought gave her some sort of solace, and something that she felt she could do for her daughter.
"I best be getting back now. Wouldn't want my husband worrying over me," she lied, knowing full well that he wouldn't miss her. He probably even hoped that the prince would take her off his hands. Their disdain was that strong.

Brone nodded solemnly, his prince shields back up in their normal place. He held out his arm for her to take, he would bring her back home in one piece, even if no one else was looking out for his well being. "Of course." Was all he said. He had no doubt that Mrs De Lorme could make their lives miserable, and since her magic and vampire was inside her all along, she probably did not run too much risk from Tobias. As for her husband, he doubted she would miss her much at all. No doubt he was sick of her but loved his money too much. What was that marriage built on? His marriage would never become that way.
"However, I wouldn't tell them that you know what is going on right away. i don't want anything to happen to you my lady. You mean so much to Serena." And Brone had great respect for his bride-to-be's mother. A remarkable woman.

She took his arm as was custom and was ready to walk back with him. A laugh escaped her lips before she could catch it, though there was absolutely no disrespect within it at all. "They won't know, believe me. Whenever I get home I always make his life miserable for my sheer pleasure. It keeps him tame and out of my hair for a few days after my return. But I'll at least keep it as mild as usual, so not to draw any attention," she promised. She had a feeling that if anyone was going to torture Tobias with extreme measures it was going to be the Prince himself, or at least under his own orders.

Brone nodded slowly. They walked in silence, vampires were out in the streets now, the sun completely gone from the sky. But they were the stillest as they walked, both much sound coming from them, though people began to bow around him and he ignored them. In an undertone, the prince spoke, but not as a prince. "I know you'd love to make them pay or what they did to your daughter. But I... I would really love to make Tobias pay. I'd love to kill him." His tone was dark, almost apologetic, as if he wondered if it was his place. His lowered voice hinted at the fact that his words were informal and taken from his as a person. he wanted to make him pay for doing that to his almost wife.
Brone stiffened again as they reached the house, his guards moving down to stand behind him and he bowed low to the lady of the house. Not sure what words would be best.
ooc- sorry for not being on. i got into college and couldn't like sit still so i went to the mall and then watched like 5 bones with my bro

ooc: oh! congrads!! no apologizes needed! lol i remember how excited i was so thats awesome!!
Victoria couldn't help but grin a bit at the prince's words, despite how informed he was being amongst his people. Just showed how true love and revenge could change a person. "Then I will leave him to your devices. I will take care of my husband in due time. But for now, look after your wife-to-be. As she heals, I will come and open her third eye. As you train, so will she. You'll be stronger together that way. Regardless of Tobias' ways."
When they reached her door, she returned his bow with an ever graceful curtsy. She smiled softly at him and nodded her head. "Until tomorrow evening, your grace. Send my regards to my daughter."
