Serena was asleep, she'd needed so much sleep lately. But the country new they'd had the baby and several letters would come in every day for them. Brone had taken Lucy to his room while Serena was asleep in hers. They were a calm pair, baby and father. Looking at one another. Lucy would smile every so often, and grabbed at his finger--much larger than hers, and certainly rougher than her mother's skin, but she didn't seem to care. "I love you little Lucy." he said, she smiled lightly at him. He saw so much of Serena there, in Lucy's hair and general face shape, along with her lips. But the child had his eyes. Lucy began to stir though, needing either a change of pace or to be fed. "Shh..." He'd rather let Serena sleep just a little more, so to soothe the child he started to sing, rocking her gently. He decided to sing a song he had known that applied to so many women in his life, all in different ways. People who believed in him, from Serena, to Keelin, to Victora, to his Lucy. (( www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DmUS7bBVdg)) "She stares through my shadow She sees something more Believes there's a light in me She is sure And her truth makes me stronger Does she realize I awake every morning With her strength by my side
I am not a hero I am not an angel I am just a man Man who's trying to love her Unlike any other In her eyes I am
This world keeps on spinning Only she stills my heart She's my inspiration She's my northern star I don't count my possession All I call mine I will give her completely To the end of all time
I am not a hero I am not an angel I am just a man Man who's trying to love her Unlike any other In her eyes I am
In her eyes I see the sky and all I'll ever need In her eyes time passes by and she is with me
I am not a hero I am not an angel I am just a man Man who's trying to love her Unlike any other In her eyes I am In her eyes I am."

((thirtieth time's a charm lol))
Serena's dreams were filled with thoughts of her new family, remembering the day that Lucy was born to them and the time she had with her since then. Thought of her impending wedding to Brone and leaving her old family behind permanently wove their way through her fantasy clouds, leaving her lips in the real world to smile from time to time. Never before had she thought her life would finally be complete. A beautiful daughter that was the light of her life. A man that almost gave his own life to be with her. It all seemed to be a dream, one she didn't want to wake from.
As her dream finally started to fade away and she began to stir, she felt beside her for the small life that had been resting with her not too long ago. Her eyes nearly snapped open when she realized that nothing was there, but then she remembered that Brone had been with her as well. There was no doubt that those two were together. She knew from the way their child moved in her womb when he was around those two would be two peas in a pod. Taking her time to rise up from her slumber and leave the bed, she knew exactly where to look.
Wrapping a robe around her once-more-narrowing frame, she left her room to walk just down the hallway towards Brone's. Before she even reached the doorway, she could hear a familiar voice serenading someone else inside. Her lips curved into a smile as she heard the end of the song Brone was singing for their Lucy just as she materialize through the door, the belt of silver medallions her grandmother gave her jingling softly as she took a step forward. Now that she was embracing all of her heritage, her maternal family were starting to send gifts everyday, both for Lucy and her impending nuptials.
"You're going to spoil her at this rate," she teased softly, still waking up.

Brone could sense her coming, he had a hightend perception for that sort of thing, and so when he heard the bells which he knew now to be her, he was not too surprised at the sound. Lucy however squirmed slightly to look at her mother but still gripped the fabric of Brone's shirt in her tiny new born fist.
Brone smiled as Serena moved closer and he leaned in to kiss her lips gently. "Maybe..." He said looking back at their daughter, still loving the words: their daughter. "But I can't help it." he wasn't giving her gifts, but he was giving her his time, and his voice, and a song. He loved Lucy so much already, another little version of Serena, but one that was part of him.
He smiled at his wife to be. "Did you sleep well?" he asked her.

Serena's smile brightened as she saw their daughter move to see her, just seeing her beautiful round eyes giving her joy. Brone's kiss was a welcome joy too, which she returned happily before leaning down to kiss Lucy's forehead. Seeing those two together was enough to make her smile. She never knew the kind of doting love that Brone was giving Lucy, but knowing that Lucy did get that change was another joy.
"I had hope-filled dreams," she replied, reaching up to gently stroke Lucy's feather-light hair. Even she could tell that she had her father's eyes, and it was still new to her to see an otherwise tiny replica of herself. She's still a daddy's girl... she thought to herself with a soft laugh out loud.

Hope filled dreams.
Poetry, perfect and simple, pure and wonderful. He'd been dreaming too, but mostly of war, and of the death of his father--which he hadn't seen, Keelin's angry and saddened eyes. Then he would think of sweeter thing, hopeful things. No Tobias. He had Serena--alive and well. they had Lucy. Nothing could ruin this, nothing could ruin them.
Brone smiled at the woman he already considered his wife. "That is a beautiful thing." He said, wanting to wrap her up in his arms and kiss her, but their baby was still nestled in his arms, light and easy to hold.
"I dream of you often, and then i wake up to you. You are my hope, my dreams, both awake and asleep." He told Serena a gentle smile on his lips. He never knew if he told her enough, and he always worried when he thought he would lose her, that she hadn't known the extent of his love for her. He was always going to tell her.

That was something Brone would never have to worry about again. Serena knew with all her soul just how much he loved her, everything that he had risked, almost given up, just so they could be together now. It was the thought of his love that had slowly made dying easier to accept, the closer it had come to sunrise. Because she had the chance to know his love, instead of living alone. She would never tiring of listening to him.
"It warms my soul to hear you say that," she told him softly, kissing her fingertips and then touching them to his lips. Then she leaned down and gently kissed the top of Lucy's head, just as their little girl stretched and smiled up at her. She was far too content in her father's arms to reach out towards her mother, though she needed to be fed soon. Brone's voice had that affect on both mother and child.
"The two of you seem closer than the red in blood already," she teased once more, laughing softly as she went to the nearby armoire for a bottle of blood. She liked keeping it in his room more as an excuse to see him more when he wasn't out on his kingly duties. And it was the time he spent with both of them so she wanted him to be with his family as much as he could.
